I started this endeavor in March 2010 by contacting Mr. David Baker, Editor of the Lebanon Daily News. Indicating that the newspaper used to carry a column entitled "Twenty Years Ago," I suggested a present column entitled "The Way It Was" in Lebanon County, Month, Year.
I submitted six monthly columns and received a favorable response indicating that the column would be published on the first Sunday of each month beginning in July.
On Sunday, July 4, 2010, a front page article by Steve Snyder of the newspaper staff, introduced the first column along with a write-up about me. From that point on, the columns have appeared on the second page of the newspaper.
My source for the columns is the Lebanon Daily News preserved on microfilm at the Lebanon Valley College's Bishop Library in Annville, PA.
